"Don't aim for the goal, aim to become the person who can achieve it easily."
你好!, I'm Brik H. Meza
I am applying for a Master's degree in Robotics & AI. I co-founded Outliers, an AI/web consultancy, and NONHUMAN, Peru's first student-led Embodied AI lab, where I am learning and growing as both an engineer and entrepreneur.
Previously, I interned at BSH and worked as an AI Research Engineer at EsSalud, where I led health-AI pilots such as NutriBot, MediVoz, and RADOX. I received my Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering from PUCP in 2025.
I want to collaborate to enable robots to perform long-horizon tasks. I am excited about startups and the future of autonomous robots.

Portfolio
A selection of projects showcasing my skills in mechatronics and AI.

Automatic Package Sorting System
Modular mechatronic system for automated package classification using barcode detection and independent sorting modules. Designed to reduce space requirements while maintaining scalability.

MANTRA
The NONHUMAN team built an ALOHA-style bimanual manipulator using Piper arms, achieving a system that is 4 times cheaper than the original ALOHA. I led the mechanical design and developed the teleoperation and data-collection stack. The team collected over 2,000 pick-and-place episodes (dataset available on HuggingFace) to fine-tune and test the π0.5 model.

BISO-ARM100: Automated Medication Sorting via Imitation Learning
A pilot study conducted at IETSI-EsSalud evaluating a low-cost bimanual robotic system (12 DOF) based on the open-source SO-ARM100 project. The system was trained via Imitation Learning and tested on a sample of 10 medication box types, achieving an 80% global success rate in a controlled environment.

Nutribot: AI Chatbot for Preventive Nutrition Education
Research study on multimodal AI chatbot powered by OpenAI API deployed on WhatsApp for preventive nutritional education. Published research conducted at EsSalud Peru to improve nutritional literacy and prevent chronic non-communicable diseases in adults aged 40 and above. The chatbot impacted 200+ users through health-AI pilots. A usability study conducted with 50 participants achieved a System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 78.9/100 and demonstrated an 85% improvement in diet adherence.

MediVoz: Smart Transcription for Medical Consultations
Web application that uses AI voice agents to transform medical documentation. Converts real-time consultations to text and automatically generates structured clinical records. Engineered the full-stack demo pilot for "Accuracy of MediVoz: An AI-Based Medical Transcription System"; reduced clinical note-taking time by 70% vs. baseline.

BIMAN
Spearheaded the mechatronic design and prototyping of a low-cost mobile home-assistant robot (approximately $1.5K). Currently, the team is working on autonomous navigation and teleoperation of the arms using VR systems. In current development.
